With an area of 1,219,080 m KMA lying south of the African continent. Bounded to the north from west to east with Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Swaziland. Similarly a country like Lesotho is surrounded by South African territory.
Due to its extension, the climate is variable ranging from the mild climate of the south and the highlands, in the northwestern subtropical andalusia andalusia and semiarid in the west. The average annual rainfall is 464 mm.
The main rivers are the Orange River which empties into the Atlantic Ocean, the Vaal River and its main tributary to the Limpopo river flow into the Indian Ocean, was born near Johannesburg and then mark on the northern border with Botswana and Zimbabwe
The southernmost point of the country, and therefore the African continent is Cape Agulhas.
